When to vaccinate?

September–November is ideal. Protection takes 10–14 days to build.

Why annually?

Flu strains shift each season — last year’s vaccine offers little protection against this year’s circulating strains.

NHS or private?

NHS covers eligible groups (65+, pregnancy, certain conditions). Outside that, private is the route.

How effective is it?

Typically 40–60% effective at preventing infection — and dramatically reduces severity if you catch flu.

Side effects?
