Why a travel consultation matters.
Three reasons to book one before your trip.
Travel Vaccine Consultation — Travel-ready in one visit
Why not just buy vaccines online?
Every trip is different. A 2-week beach holiday in Mexico has different vaccine needs from a 6-month expedition in West Africa. NaTHNaC guidance changes with outbreaks. Pharmacist consultation gives you a destination-tailored plan, not a generic vaccine list.
What does the pharmacist cover?
We review your itinerary destination-by-destination against TravelHealthPro country guidance, recommend vaccines and antimalarials, plan the schedule (some vaccines need weeks before travel), discuss bite avoidance, food & water safety, and altitude where relevant.
How is this different from a GP appointment?
GPs handle travel basics but often refer for specialist travel clinics. We are a NaTHNaC-registered Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre with travel-trained pharmacists — same-day vaccinate where possible, ICVP issued on the day for Yellow Fever.

Eligibility checklist
You should book a consultation if…
You are travelling to Africa, Asia, Latin America or other endemic regions.
You will spend over a week away from major resorts.
You are visiting friends and family in a high-risk region.
You have a chronic condition (diabetes, immunocompromise, pregnancy).
You need certified vaccinations like Yellow Fever ICVP.
For UK-only travel or short trips to low-risk regions (most of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, North America), a consultation may not be needed. Pharmacist can confirm quickly.
Ideally 4–6 weeks before travel — that allows time for multi-dose vaccines (Hep B, rabies, JE) to complete. Last-minute travellers still benefit; we’ll prioritise what time allows.
Your itinerary (countries, regions, dates, accommodation type), a list of current medicines, allergies, and previous vaccination records — including any ICVP booklet.
It’s payable at the start of the consultation, but if you decide to vaccinate the same day we credit the £10 back against your vaccine fees. So if you book any vaccine, the consultation is effectively free.
Yes — most travel vaccines are stocked across our branches. Yellow Fever and a few less-common vaccines may need to be ordered in; we’ll tell you on the day.
