What is Tuberculosis (TB)?

Tuberculosis (TB) is a serious bacterial infection primarily spread through airborne respiratory droplets from an infected person. It can also be transmitted through unpasteurised milk.

The BCG (Bacillus Calmette-Guérin) vaccine offers some protection against TB but is not universally effective. It is especially recommended for:

• Individuals under the age of 16 traveling to high-risk countries for extended periods (typically more than 3 months)
