New medicine service

The New Medicine Service is a free service, funded by the NHS and provided by your Pharmacist to help you to get the most out of your new medicine

If you’re prescribed a medicine to treat a long-term condition for the first time, you may be able to get extra help with your medicine from our pharmacist through a FREE scheme called the New Medicine Service.

As part of the scheme, our pharmacist will support you over several weeks to get the best out of your new medicine. If you are taking a new medication for any of the following conditions, our pharmacist may ask if you would like to take part in the service:

• asthma
• chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
• type 2 diabetes
• high blood pressure
• new blood-thinning medicine

Our Pharmacist will have a chat to you about everything you need to know before taking your new medication.
