Pharmacy First lets you get same-day NHS treatment for 7 common conditions — sore throat, sinusitis, earache, impetigo, shingles, infected insect bites, and UTIs (women 16–64) — without seeing your GP. Our pharmacists can prescribe NHS medication where clinically appropriate.
No. NHS Pharmacy First and the other services are available regardless of which pharmacy holds your repeat prescriptions or which GP surgery you are registered with.
Adults 65+, pregnant women, people in clinical risk groups (asthma, diabetes, heart disease, etc.), frontline health and social care workers, and carers. We administer the jab same-day at every branch from October to March.
If you have been newly prescribed medication for asthma, COPD, diabetes, blood pressure, or as an anticoagulant, our pharmacist gives you a free NHS follow-up consultation to check it is working, manage side effects, and help with adherence.
